Log4J Advisory From CSA

In a follow-up to the previous post, the “Log4j” software flaw has taken on renewed urgency and importance with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) upgrading the alert level, as well as holding emergency meetings with all government agencies which oversee Singapore’s 11 critical information infrastructure (CII) sectors. In addition, the agency has urged businesses to implement mitigation measures immediately such as patching to the latest updates, determining if the same software is used in other instances within their system and be on heightened alert for anomalous activities.

Coupled with reports that even some big companies are finding it difficult to fully patch the flaw within their systems; and the flaw allowing even amateur cyber criminals to launch attacks, companies should work with their providers to ensure that they are up to date and well protected against any potential threats from malicious actors. Companies should also ensure that they have adequate cyber insurance coverage to deal with any potential fallouts from any hacking incidents.
